ABOUT
MS. LO
This is Ms. Kelly Lo's 10th year teaching at the Chinese Academy of Cleveland and she is happy to be back this year! She's a bilingual music teacher who has a handsome 6 year-old pet rabbit named Thumper Doodle. She enjoys spending calm Saturday mornings with Thumper but during the school year, she LOVES to share her Saturday morning with her students by singing, dancing, playing, drawing, and learning Chinese together in the Pre-K and PreSchool class!

Ms. Lo received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2011 from Baldwin-Wallace University (formerly known as B-W College) with an emphasis on voice and strings in Berea, OH. Prior to teaching music, she taught Chinese at Mentor High School for three years, co-taught 6th grade orchestra at both Shore and Memorial middle schools (Mentor), and taught elementary music classes along with fifth-grade orchestra classes at Lake Elementary, Sterling-Morton Elementary, and Ridge Elementary in the past. Starting in August 2021, Ms. Lo now has the luxury of focusing on sharing the joy of music with children from Kindergarten through fifth grade only at her favorite home school, Fairfax Elementary (Mentor) and Bellflower Elementary. Besides teaching general music classes, Ms. Lo also directs Children's Choir, Bucket Drumming classes, and Pianica Ensemble at Fairfax Elementary (Mentor).

Ms. Lo would like to thank her sister, Mrs. Jasmine Rocco, and the Niwawa Foundation for providing the initial curriculum with vocabulary that children can relate to on a daily basis. Ms. Lo believes that learning Chinese at such a young age can be fun and tangible through vocabulary-based crafts, vocabulary-based activities, songs and rhymes, story-telling, and games.
