中文四教学要旨：
Chinese 4 Learning Objectives:

 

• Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to understand Classroom Expressions, simple commands, and elements of conversation through classroom interactions, meetings, email, and accessing the Chinese program's website.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to understand spoken Chinese by listening to words, phrases, short paragraphs, and conversations and answering questions that are based on the recording played.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the pinyin system by being able to speak 90% of the vocabulary learned with accurate tone marks.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to speak in Chinese through oral presentations based on selected topics with correct sentence structure, vocabulary learned from the course, and accurate tones.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to read words, phrases, short paragraphs, and dialogues by answering questions based on the reading material.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the pinyin system by being able to spell all of the vocabulary learned with accurate tone marks.

• Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the language by being able to write 95% of the vocabulary in Chinese characters by the end of semester. 

• Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to write in both pinyin (with tone marks) and Chinese characters by writing short sentences, paragraphs, and compositions with correct sentence structure.
